Frequently Asked Questions
What is your print file specification?
We accept CMYK print files of the following types: pdf, jpeg, tiff, psd, ai, or eps, all created at actual size with a resolution no less than 150dpi.For best results please submit a vector file (created using Adobe Illustrator or CorelDraw etc) with text converted to curves OR a flattened Photoshop or tiff file at actual size and 300dpi. For more detail please see our templates. Please include 3mm bleed and crop marks for all print-ready art, apart from drum heads, so that we can effectively trim your job - please see here for further information. Also please be aware that the templates are for your assistance and information only, and should NOT be included in the final artwork.
We will advise you if we see any potential problems with your art when we receive the files. If your art is "not quite right" and you would like us to fix it for you, or design and create your print-ready art files from scratch, we can do so at the rate of $85 plus GST per hour. Alternatively you may wish to work closely with your own graphic designer who knows how to create your print-ready art to our specifications – which are really just straightforward guidelines for a professional designer.
What are the artwork specifications for the Treatme Pull-up Banner?
We Love PDFs!
When supplying them to us, please choose PDF/X-1a:2001 as a preset – it flattens layers, embeds colour profiles and ensures the file you submit is printed the way you want it.

We’re also happy to receive artwork in other file formats: EPS, AI, Tiff, and JPEG.
- * All text within the file should be converted to paths, curves or outlines, or the font should be supplied with the file.
- * Raster graphics (tiff or photoshop images) should be setup at 300dpi, sized to 25% of the output size.
- * For billboards and large banners, they should be 300dpi at 10% of the final size.
We will get specified colours as close as possible within the media and printer colour range. These colours should be listed with their Pantone reference.
Uploading Large Files: If you have trouble sending large files, the easiest way to get the file to us is to use a third party software called wetransfer. All you need to do is go to the https://wetransfer.com website, fill in the form, upload your file and click send.
All files should be sent to this email address: sales@bandstuff.co.nz
Can I use one of your existing bass drum images and add my own text or logo?
Yes you can – send through your completed art with a note indicating which of our background images you would like to use and we will combine the images for you for an extra $25 plus GST.
Will my printed materials look the same as when I look at the art on my computer?
There will be small differences, due to the fact that your monitor uses an RGB colour scheme to display, and when we print, we use a CMYK colour scheme. These are two totally different ways to describe colour, and although in most cases it will be very similar, there can be differences.
It looks as though there are issues with my art – can you fix it?
Yes we can, if your art is “not quite right” and you would like us to fix it for you, or design and create your print-ready art files from scratch, we can do so at the rate of $85 plus GST per hour.
Can you print my hi-res picture on a bass drum head?
Yes, we can print anything you would like. The only limitation is the quality of your print file and its’ resolution – please see Print File Specification.
Can you port my bass drum head?
Yes, we can do that for you. You need to specify where you would like the port (just pick a number from 1 to 12 - as in the face of a clock...) This will add $14 to the cost.
Can I supply my own drum head?
Sorry, we only supply and print onto brand new heads to be able to guarantee our product quality (used skins often have stains, marks and dents that cause print quality issues) and we know that the skins we supply will work as expected.
What type of drum heads do you use?
We supply Evans and Remo (and for our more budget-minded clients, generic drum heads ex Asia).
Will it sound different from my bass drum skin?
Probably a slight difference, as we use single ply heads, and when the print is applied it ends up sounding a bit 'fuller', probably more like a two-ply.
What about delivery?
